Giorgio Armani Si Passione Review

Have you said yes to Si yet? Well, here’s my fragrance review of the latest fragrance from Giorgio Armani the new Si Passione.

I am just loving both the bottle and the perfume! The Bottle is lovely and chunky like the Original Si EDP bottle and has the black, ultra tactile bottle top. However, it is the fabulously vibrant shade of red, which draws you to pick this up and try it. For interest sake, the particular shade of red lacquer in the bottle is the same as the Giorgio Armani 400 red lipstick, created to match the skin tone of every woman.

Giorgio Armani wanted something that represents a strong, confident, graceful, feminine woman, who is also passionate and empowered. A bit like popping on a swipe of your favourite red lipstick and how that transforms the way you feel. The ambassador for the Si is Cate Blanchett, who represents the very essence of the brand, who has walked the red carpet dressed in couture outfits by Giorgio Armani.

Next, the juice itself. The Si Passione is classed as a fruity floral. From the first spray, you can smell the syrupy notes of the Liqueur de Cassis, Lush Pear and the kick of Pink Pepper. Initially delicately sweet and fruity, which then becomes warm and feminine, as the addictive heart notes draw you in from May Rose Absolute, Red rose mixed with the deliciously warm powdery softness of Heliotrope and Jasmine. Onto the base notes that makes this fragrance last on the skin, Patchouli and Cedarwood, along with Vanilla which just seems to tie all of the other essences together.

Being an Eau de Parfum, this is going to last on your skin. I have tried it, I was pleasantly surprised how long it lasted ( about 4-5 hours) and I did receive a compliment. The projection is not too overpowering, more of a subtle waft, more intimate rather than heady or strong. Therefore, I feel you could wear this perfume anytime of year, any time of day.

The Nose behind the Si Passione is Julie Masse, who had previously worked on the Original Si with Christine Nagel.

If you wanted to compare the two Si versions, the Original Si EDP is classed as a Chypre fragrance. Giorgio Armani wanted a chypre perfume in his collection of fragrances, as his grandmother had worn these style essences. Giorgio, however, by adding a really modern twist, has updated and brought the chypre perfume into the 21st century. With Fruity top notes of the Liqueur de Cassis (Blackcurrant), Heart of Vanilla, Base notes of White Musks and Oakmoss and Woods.A very popular, wonderfully elegant and longlasting perfume.

My favourite of the Si EDP was the limited edition Si Nacre, which when sprayed gave not just the wonderful aroma of Si but also a beautiful, pearlescent, glittery sheen to the clothes and skin. However, this particular version of the essence is fast becoming my ultimate favourite.

If you are thinking of buying for yourself or maybe a special lady, bear in mind what she may wear already. If she owns fragrances such as Paco Rabanne Olympae, YSL Black Opium, Miss Dior EDP(also created by Christine Nagel), Dior Poison Girl, Tom Ford Velvet Orchid or likes vanilla based essences, scents, candles or perfumes this will be a good one to try and buy. Especially as I believe it will be launching with gift with purchase, a cute red Armani cosmetic bag and a travel spray. Prices start from £49 for 30ml EDP.

Let me know any comments if you manage to try this or which is your favourite in the Giorgio Armani Si range?
